Frequently asked question

We understand the unique
characteristics
of each regional market.

Is Feelingwood Cladding Code-Compliant?
All Feelingwood products, when installed correctly for approved applications, adhere to or are undergoing rigorous code compliance review for the International Residential Code (IRC) and/or the International Building Code (IBC). However, it is essential to check with your local building code department for specific jurisdictional requirements.
Can You Rip a Feelingwood Cladding Panel?
Feelingwood products are designed not to be ripped to reduce thickness, but they can be ripped to reduce length. As long as the ripped board can still be installed according to the installation instructions, the warranty will remain valid. When fastening ripped panels, please use caution as pre-drilling may be necessary.
Can I Use Other Fasteners to Install Feelingwood Cladding?
Feelingwood does not endorse the use of non-recommended fasteners for cladding installation. If any issues arise due to the use of a non-recommended fastener, such conditions will not be covered under the Feelingwood Limited Warranty. Please consult our Installation Guide for more information.
Can I Paint or Stain My Feelingwood Cladding?
The robust shell of our high-performance Feelingwood cladding means it never requires painting or staining. The rich color and protective finish are inherently part of the shell, designed to resist rotting, splitting, splintering, and insect damage for the duration of the warranty. Additionally, painting Feelingwood cladding may invalidate your warranty.
Is Feelingwood Cladding Scratch Resistant?
All Feelingwood cladding is designed to resist potential damage. Our current cladding lines are scratch-resistant, protecting your cladding against nicks, cracks, and splitting.
Is Feelingwood Cladding Fire Resistant?
Your safety outdoors is our utmost priority. At Feelingwood, we prioritize safety measures. Our cladding has passed fire-resistant testing. However, please note that it is not fireproof.
Are Cladding Samples Available?
Absolutely. Please contact us if you are interested in our composite cladding products.
How Long Does Feelingwood Composite Cladding Last?
When well-maintained, the wood plastic composite cladding will last well beyond the 10-25-year warranty.
Will Feelingwood Composite Cladding Fade After Installation?
Feelingwood cladding will lighten naturally as it weathers over the first 2-3 months of outdoor exposure before stabilizing. This lightening is caused by rain washing out naturally occurring dark wood oils (called tannins) and UV exposure. The color lightening is reduced and gradually remains stable after this period.
Is Feelingwood Cladding Easy to Clean?
Maintaining Feelingwood WPC cladding is effortless. Simply clean it with soap and water. For a detailed cleaning routine, please refer to our dedicated Care & Cleaning Guide.
Is Feelingwood Cladding Maintenance-Free?
While Feelingwood cladding requires significantly less maintenance than traditional wood cladding, it still needs some care to maintain its appearance over the years. Just like washing your car, regular cleaning and upkeep are necessary. Refer to our Care & Cleaning Guide for more information on maintaining your cladding.
Is Feelingwood Cladding Easy to Install?
Installing Feelingwood cladding is not difficult. Our installation guide provides valuable tips and tricks to ensure a smooth installation process.
What’s the Lifetime Value of Feelingwood Cladding?
Pressure-treated wood cladding requires ongoing maintenance, including sanding, staining, and painting, which adds to the overall cost over time. While Feelingwood may have a higher initial investment, its lack of maintenance needs ensures you’ll never have to sand, stain, or paint it. This results in significant savings throughout the cladding’s lifespan, surpassing the cost of wood.
Why is Feelingwood Cladding More Expensive than Wood, Despite Being Made from Recycled Materials?
Although Feelingwood’s primary materials are recycled, the rigorous processing involved in creating this cladding ensures its superior quality and performance. This advanced manufacturing process results in a cladding material that outperforms traditional wood, ultimately saving you money through lower maintenance requirements.
What Materials Are Used in the Manufacturing of Feelingwood Cladding?
Feelingwood cladding is crafted from 90% recycled materials, including reclaimed sawdust and recycled plastic derived from common household items such as plastic overwrap from paper towel and toilet paper packaging, dry cleaner bags, newspaper bags, and grocery and shopping bags.
Why Choose Feelingwood Cladding?
Feelingwood cladding offers unmatched durability and performance compared to traditional wood cladding. It resists termites, rot, warping, and splintering, and never requires staining or painting. Furthermore, our cladding is crafted from 90% recycled materials, making it an environmentally friendly choice you can be proud of.
